MAN BLOG

This post is dedicated to all the women (including myself) who have husbands that don't quite understand or appreciate all they do on their blog. I decided that they might find it more interesting if we posted things that they're really into. So here we go boys, this one's for you:

If I were a man, I would post the following as my daily "man moments:"

1. I might post a picture of my wife (not present-day, mind you (ugh) but of her on our wedding day) so all my dude friends can see what a hot babe I was...am married to.

2. I might post a picture I snapped with my camera phone of the giant dump I took at the local Chevron.

3. I would then go on to explain that as soon as I got home from work, I plopped down on the couch and played my favorite x-box 360/wii/playstation games for 4.5 hours.

4. But of course, I would brag that I did it from my leather lazy-boy and on my big screen plasma tv. (nothing but the best)

5. I would then go on to credit myself for much of the world's progress, forget to thank my wife for all she does, accidentally ignore my kids, and fart whenever I want to.

"No No Touch Your Pee Pee"

I need help! Every time Lily gets even partially naked, she goes to town touching her "pee pee." It's more like scratching and clawing. I've taught her "no no touch your pee pee," but I don't want her to get a complex and think that it is a BAD thing, which it's not. She just doesn't understand if I try to tell her not to claw at it. Do any of you experienced moms have any words of wisdom? Maybe I should start reading her the Vagina Monologues...

P.S.
Thank goodness she's not a boy.

I Consider Myself Lucky...

...Mostly because Lily is so good. Yes, she cries and throws fits, but 90% of the time she is content, happy and wants to play.
This morning, I am grateful for SLEEP! I know so many moms who do not get enough. Lily started sleeping through the night (at least 8 hours) when she was 2 weeks old! Now, she goes to bed at 8pm and doesn't wake up until 10am!! This way, mom can stay up until all hours of the night but still get enough sleep.
Thank you, Lily!

Living in the Ghetto

We live right off of state street in S. Provo, and there is always a lot of traffic. All day (and night) we hear cars, motorcycles, police sirens, trains, etc. Good thing Lily loves it! She gets so excited, she has to know what is going on!

She especially loves it when the police show up at our neighbor's house (which happens probably once a month). Exciting stuff.

Eyes like Marilyn

People close to me know I love Marilyn Monroe. Not as much as the Olsen twins, but she still has a special place in my heart.
SO...I ventured over to MAC to find the perfect liquid eyeliner that would give me "Marilyn" eyes. $17 and 2 hours later, I am left with thick, black, shaky, uneven strips across my eyelids. I blink and now I have TWO lines on my eyelids. And to top things off, this stuff would not come off with makeup remover, lotion or baby oil. So I went to work today looking like I let the girl running the special olympics booth do my makeup. No comments, just confused faces.

Please don't make me cook....or shower.

I really hope today is not my last day on earth, because I have done nothing productive. Actually, I have done nothing at all. So this post is dedicated to all the cool things I could have done today.

Where's Your Belly?

Since Lily loves to stick her hand down womens' shirts and try to sneak a peak, I thought I would teach her where her BELLY is instead. Now when I ask her, "Where's your belly?" she knows right where to find it.

New Reads

I am trying to find some new ways to relax, so I ordered my two favorite books from high school on Amazon. They just arrived today and I am excited to get started. I'm definitely not a huge reader, but since I remember liking these books, hopefully that will motivate me.

And NO, I will never read vampire-mormon books.

Playing at the Park

Tonight was such a beautiful night...we went to a park in Orem with Brenna, JP and Charlie. Lily thinks she's old enough to keep up on the playground equipment, but she's not quite there...

Why So Serious?

Mmmm, Breakfast

This morning, Lily and I made delicious baby food! (eww, gross) We made peas, broccoli, chicken, potatoes, zucchini and eggplant. This way we can "sneak" healthy stuff into her meals. She is such a picky eater lately!

Follow the Leader

Lily is so close to walking, but she can't quite do it on her own yet. So instead, she holds on to the back of our jeans and follows us while we walk around the house! She's crazy, but it sure makes cleaning easy...she's entertained and I can get anywhere I need to!

Playing around...

Need I Say More?

I hate old people.

Seriously, what the heck. I don't have time for these people to drive 10 under in the fast lane, balance their check books before tearing out their check at the grocery store, block the lanes with their annoying Rascals, and touch Lily with their decrepit, veiny, dirty, who-knows-where-they've been hands. Ugh.

Antique Jewelry

I wish I would think about accessorizing my outfits more, but I never really think about it and rarely wear jewelry. Today I went through my box and found my two favorites...both gifts from my best friend Ali.

I love the locket. And who do I keep pictures of to keep closest to my heart at all times? You guessed it, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Lily's Color Box

Lily LOVES to color. We started out with colored pencils, then tried Crayola Color Wonder* and just got crayons yesterday. She loves coloring!

*Has anyone else been royally screwed over by Crayola Color Wonder? I wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE...sure, the marker only shows up on the paper, but it also leaves stains on your clothes and anything white! Uggh, what a nightmare.

Ziplock Madness

Lily loves to take a box of ziplock bags and pull each bag out one at a time. Although it takes a while to clean up, she's mastered the art of the "pull and toss," which takes her a few minutes tops.

Green Onions!

Today I made twice-baked potatoes (a favorite around our house) and had leftover green onions.

I always feel terrible keeping them in my fridge for no reason then throwing them away because they are too delicious, and they smell great! So I decided to make a little bouquet of them for myself to enjoy. Mmmm, I love walking into my kitchen!

Wedding Rings

Last night Brenna and I were begging Dan to take pictures of our wedding rings so we would have something to blog about. Awesome.

I was so proud of Dan, he picked this ring out himself. I told him I wanted something unique, something different, etc. and he found this ring at an antique jewlers. Circa 1912, it has 2 blue sapphires and a small center diamond. I couldn't have picked something more perfect myself!!

Santa Jammies In The Summer

Lily loves hand-me-downs, and the funny part is when the size and season don't match up. Right now, she fits into TONS of winter/Christmasy clothes. So instead of buying new ones, we're just putting her to bed in her Santa Jammies. Are we super cool or what?!

Confession

Sometimes I buy Lily "Happy Birthday" balloons and sing happy birthday to her. She loves it, and I can't help it.

Cutest Shoes!

I just have to post a picture of Lily's new shoes...she looks like a little lady!

P.S.
If anyone has any migraine advice (natural or not) PLEASE let me know...it has been 2 weeks and I'm desperate.
